Senior MSgt Paul "Sonny" DeGeorge, ANG Retired

Senior MSgt Paul Larry "Sonny" DeGeorge, age 80, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in Ocean Springs. He was born August 13, 1937 in Biloxi to Paul "Mutt" and Frances DeGeorge. He attended Notre Dame High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Air National Guard after 31 years of service. Mr. DeGeorge is preceded in death by his parents, Paul "Mutt" and Frances DeGeorge, and Shereen Schumacher DeGeorge; his daughter, Rene DeGeorge; his granddaughter, Sherry Cauble; and his siblings, Carol Sue DeGeorge Gabrich and Kay Frances DeGeorge Gennarelli. Survivors include his children, Deborah Odom (Buddy) Broome, Larrine Groves Roush, and Sherleen "Dimples" DeGeorge Thibodeaux; grandchildren, Patrick J. (Amy) Odom, Bradley L. Odom, Blake Thibodeaux, Marissa Thibodeaux, Sharon Stallone, Crystal (Ben) Stringer, Raymond Groves, Jr., Curmis (Celena) Broome, III, and Meagan G. Broome; great-grandchildren, Adeline C. Odom, Emma Broome, Curmis Broome, IV, and Bella Broome; and siblings, Laura Ann Creel and Gary DeGeorge. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Keesler 81st Medical Group and their staff. Visitation will be held Monday, July 23, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with a 1:00 p.m. service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park.
