Barbara Adamo, age 69, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016 in Diamondhead, MS.
Ms. Adamo was a native of the MS Gulf Coast. She was the oldest of four children born to George and Octlee Blanchard. Barbara was christened and attended catechism through the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi and attended the Howard Avenue School in Biloxi.
She later met and married her soulmate, Robert Adamo, and together they moved to d’Iberville to start their family, having three daughters. Ms. Adamo became an active member of Big Ridge Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday school, nursery care and the choir.
Following her husband’s death, she lived for several years with her daughter in California, where she was active in church and the community. She especially enjoyed modeling in fashion shows at her favorite boutique, shopping, cinema, good food, Baptist hymns, and quality time with her friends and many family members. Her strong faith in God brought her the greatest comfort in life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Adamo, her daughter, Karen Adamo Mason, her grandson Jason Adamo Mason, as well as her siblings, George and Paul Blanchard.
Survivors include her sister, Deborah Matthews, two daughters, Tammi Olmeda (David) and Pamela Darby (Roy), eleven grandchildren, Jonathan Hartner, Jessica Leekley, Jeremy Olmeda, Jennifer Leekley, Jacqueline Murrah, Julia Olmeda, Kelly Clark, Angela Duran, Heather Mason, Aiden Darby, and Alana Darby, and ten great-grandchildren, Graham and Odette Murrah, Robert Clark, Lillian, Lauren and Lucas Leekley, Clark, Victoria, and Aurelia Leekley, and Virginia Franklin.
Visitation will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 22, 2016 at Lighthouse Baptist Church in d’Iberville under the direction of Rev. Brad Newsome. Friends may gather one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
