Betty Jean Gonsoulin Rhodes

Betty Jean (Gonsoulin) Rhodes, age 89, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021. She was born in Biloxi to Harry and Leila Gonsoulin. Betty was a devout Catholic and attended Sacred Heart and St. John’s Catholic Churches. She enjoyed dancing and had won many dance contests over the years. The most recent at age 82! Being of French descent, she was a wonderful cook. Betty lived life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tommie Jean (Jerry) Flynn. Betty leaves behind six children, Randy (Martha) Smith, Ernie (Julie) Huffine, Neil (Cindy) Huffine, Beth Yarber and William F. Rhodes, III; eleven grandchildren, Craig, Darrin, Kevin, Byron, Mandy, Misty, Jonathan, Jeremy, Jessica, Zach and Will; and eleven great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff who attended to her over the last few months. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made in Betty’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Funeral Services will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Friends may visit from 12:00 pm until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
