Jo Ree Pennell Pease

Mrs. Jo Ree Pennell Pease, age 87, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018, in Ocean Springs. Jo Ree was born on November 5, 1930, in Learned, MS to Alden McNair and Marie Lord McNair. She received her BS Degree in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1965 and taught elementary education for the Vancleave and Ocean Springs School Districts. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs, enjoyed bird watching and was a member of the Audubon Society. Jo Ree was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Pennell and Warren Pease, parents, Marie Lord McNair, Alden McNair and Louise McInnis McNair, and siblings, E.A. McNair III (Sonny) and Dorothy McNair Layton. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Louis (Pam), David (Kelly), Robert, and Glen (Rose), grandchildren, Katy Pennell, John Pennell, Rena (Marcos) Salinas, Travis Pennell, Amanda (Josh) Eldridge, Hilary (Matthew) Colerick, Hope (Matthew) Capalbo, Kaitlyn Pennell, Brooke Cruthirds, Luke Roberts, great-grandchildren, Madeline Eldridge, Grayson Colerick, Emerson Capalbo, Jeremiah Sanchez and Alena Salinas, Hannah Cruthirds, Frances Vi Cruthirds and Ford Cruthirds, sister, Ginger McNair Kilby and beloved sisters-in-law, Virginia "Amy" Hawkins and Martha Nell "Mott" Paul. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 15, from 6pm until 8pm at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Monday, July 16, there will be an 11am Celebration of Life Service at First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs, where friends may visit from 10am until service time. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be sent to the Jack Pennell Memorial Fund-First Baptist Church EEC.
