John J. Codella III, 48, died Monday, August 17, 2020. He was born in Marrero, LA on February 12, 1972 to Sheryl and John J. Codella II. John was a long-time resident of Biloxi, a graduate of Mercy Cross High School and a member of Nativity BVM Cathedral.
John had countless friends, some that he included in his extended family every day. He was quick witted, loyal and always ready to lend a hand to anyone who asked. His work in the audio-visual industry spilled into his personal life as many friends relied on him to help set up a tv for the Super Bowl, lend an obscure charging cord or help with lighting for a wedding.
To say John was a sports fan is an understatement. He was more than your average New Orleans Saints fan, following the day to day happenings with the team year-round, and always up to discuss the latest. He loved to attend games, whether with friends or family, so much so that the birth of one of his children was almost missed - Who Dat baby!
John is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Rachel; two beautiful children, John “Joseph” Codella IV and Olivia; his mother, Sheryl; two brothers, Peter and Armondo (Renae), their children, AJ, Mattie and Will; and many more nieces and nephews and beloved relatives.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Nativity BVM Cathedral in Biloxi where friends may visit prior from 10am-12pm. Interment will follow at a later date to be determined by family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Nativity BVM Elementary School, 1046 Beach Blvd, Biloxi, MS 39530.
Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue in Biloxi, is honored to serve this family.
