Joseph Edgar LaFrance

Mr. Joseph Edgar LaFrance, Jr, age 81, of Biloxi, MS, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, in Mobile, AL. Mr. LaFrance was a longtime resident of the coast and a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Biloxi. He was a member of the Ocean Springs Lions Club and retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years. He retired from the Ocean Springs School District, was a Keesler Air Force Base Hospital volunteer for 27 years and worked at WOSM radio as a disc jockey for 43 years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Tobin and his parents, Joseph Edgar LaFrance and Agnes Broussard LaFrance. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, JoAnn Williams LaFrance of Biloxi, daughter, Brigitte LaFrance, son, Jeffery (Belinda) LaFrance, all of Ocean Springs and five grandchildren, Nathan Tobin, Rachel LaFrance, Aaron LaFrance, Jenifer Scriver and Ami Scriver. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 27, 2013, from 5 pm until 7:30 pm at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Monday, January 28, 2013, there will be a 10 am graveside service in Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.
