Marie A. Hardison, 83 years young, of D’Iberville, MS passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in Biloxi.
Mrs. Hardison was born on August 18, 1938 in Austin, TX to Rufus and Anastasia Alvarez Mendoza. She worked as a Dental Technician at the VA Hospital for 25 years. Mrs. Hardison was of the Catholic faith and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 49 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Keel; her parents; and her brothers, Ernest Mendoza and Earl “Joe” Mendoza.
Mrs. Mendoza’s survivors include her children, Diana (Ray) Pierce of Lucedale, MS, Donald Ray Keel, Jr. of Biloxi, MS, Donna Miller of Ocean Springs, MS, Denise Keel of Ocean Springs, MS and Dion (Celonne) Keel of Gulfport, MS; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Cecilia Mendoza, Celia Mendoza, Cordelia Mendoza, Dorothy (Eddie) Limon and Dolores (Sam) Flores, all of Austin, TX.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be sent to the Carmelite Sisters Missionary, 9548 Deer Trail Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff of Saad Health Care, especially to Kara Belt and Anna Jones for the care given to Mrs. Hardison.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville, MS on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Pierce, Jr., Rodney Pierce, Russell Pierce, Robert Gnapp, Brynnen Keel and Austin Keel.
