Mary Frances Blackmon of D'Iberville, MS passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at the age of 65 with her husband and children by her side.
Francie, as she was called, was born in Biloxi, MS. on March 22, 1955 to Henry G. Lechner, Jr. and Mary Louise Lechner. She worked in childcare most of her life until her health prevented her from doing so. Francie worked over 13 years, first at Holy Guardian Angels until they closed and then moved to Holy Angels. She was strong in her faith. Francie had been a Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) advisor, religious teacher, Eucharistic Minister, PTO officer and Choir member at Sacred Heart in D'Iberville, MS. Being the wife of a Knights of Columbus member, she stepped up and joined the Ladies Auxiliary of Biloxi Council #1244 where she was an officer and working member on many committees.
Francie loved her family, friends and especially children. If there was a baby, that needed to be held or hugged, Francie was there. She looked forward to her "date nights" with her husband, which consisted of a meal and a trip to one of the local casinos. She loved being with the "ladies" at the monthly PO-KEN-O club and dinners with the Kuhn St. / Laurel Court group.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Henry Greg Lechner III and Kevin Lechner; her sisters, Debra “Debbie” Deaver and Ellen LeBoeuf; and her great uncle and aunt, MM Frank Hecht.
Francie is survived by her husband of 45 years, Mark Blackmon; her daughter, Kellie Ann (Danielle) Kuper; her brother, Reginald (Cathy) Lechner; her brothers-in-law, Arnold (Toni Rae) Blackmon, David Deaver and Dedric LeBoeuf; her aunts, Amelia Barhonovich and Delores Lechner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 12:00 pm. There will be a recitation of the Rosary at 9:30 am after which visitation will follow from 10:00 am until Mass time. Francie will be laid to rest in the Biloxi City Cemetery North.
The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Pavlov, MD and his staff, the staffs at SADD Health Care, Ocean Springs Hospital and Select Specialty Hospital for the care and love they showed to Francie. Finally, Ms. Robin and Ms. Whitney for the kindest, love and support you gave Francie over the past 5 years.
She will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
