Maudie Cleo Wisniewski, 89, returned to her heavenly home on March 9th, 2018. Maudie was born August 26th, 1928 in Eriah, Alabama to the late Riley and Connie Smith of Loxley Alabama.
Maudie is life member of Loxley Baptist Church Loxley Alabama. She was also devoted to the community and took pride of her service work for veterans. She was a life member of the VFW auxiliary where she was a 1st District president and life member of the Military Order of the Cootie auxiliary where she was a 8th District president. During her time she served in many different chairmanships and volunteered countless hours in the VA hospital.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she reached but never met.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Wisniewski; daughter, Brenda Jacqueline Monk; siblings: Theodore Smith, Pauline Smith, Katheryn Green, W.C. Smith, John Riley Smith; grandson Ronald, granddaughter, Salome McCaffrey; and great-grandson Jacob.
She is survived by four daughters Diane Rika, Debbie McCaffrey, Carman and Ray McDonald, Gina and Mark Plumlee and grandson Michael Long (big man Mikey) who has been her live in caretaker for 8 years. Also surviving are many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the chapel of Bradford O'Keefe on O'Neal Road, Gulfport at 11:00 a.m. on the 14th day of March 2018 with visitation an hour before at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery,
Pastor Tom Mims of Life Church on Pass Road will officiate.
