Pauline Louise Howard Entrekin, 80, passed away on July 27, 2012 at her home in Vancleave, MS. Pauline was born on January 9, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri to Glenn and Thelma Howard. She grew up in Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri, graduated from Joplin High School in Joplin, Missouri and after high school completed junior college. She married Calvin Woodrow Entrekin on December 21, 1956 and they were happily married for 55 years. Pauline was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and a member of the Genealogical Society in Ocean Springs, where she served as president in 1981 and 1982. She wrote and published a book on the family research she documented. The name of the book is John Bryant Entrekin of South MS. She donated a book to each library locally to be used for reference.
Pauline was a very honest and responsible person. She was always there for her children and grandchildren when they needed advice or a shoulder to cry on. Pauline was a wonderful cook and the best mother/grandmother you could ask for and at the same time she took all of the stress throughout her difficult life without complaining. She will be deeply missed by many people.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents mentioned above; brothers, Roy Howard and Bruce Howard; a son, Bruce and stepsons, Michael and Carlos.
Survivors include her spouse, Calvin; her children, Barbara Stanley and Cheryl Wheeler all of Vancleave and her stepson, Franklin D. of Ocean Springs.
Funeral services will be on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Porter Avenue. Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in D’Iberville Memorial Park.
