MSgt. Phil Alan Parish, USAF, Ret., age 77, of Biloxi, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012. Phil was born in Laurel, MS where he graduated from George S. Gardnier High School. He was a resident of Biloxi, MS for more than 45 years where he enjoyed his retirement and his family.
Phil retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of service, where he served tours in England, Philippines, and Vietnam. Although proud of his service to his country, the most important service was to his family. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and loved to watch old Westerns. Phil managed the Edgewater and Hardy Court Cinemas for over 20 years. Fondly known by many as “Pa” his endearing name will always be “Papa” to his treasured grandchildren, Bryan (Kassie) and Janell (Will) and his great grandson, Gavin. He was of the Baptist faith and the 2nd Avenue Baptist Church of Laurel was his home church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Floyd and Maxine Brown Parish of Laurel, MS. He is survived by the love of his life for 53 years, June Parish; his daughter, Susan Parish Bourque and her husband Jim; the absolute joys of Phil’s life, his grandchildren, Bryan Bourque and his wife Kassie and his great-grandchild, Gavin (3), and Janelle Bourque Goff and her husband Will; his brother, Gerald Parish, his wife Diane and their 3 sons, Jason, Kyle, and Eric, and their families.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, Biloxi. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Interment will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors under the direction of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home.
