Rose Marie Thornton

Rose Marie Landry Thornton, Age 71, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017, in Gulfport. She was born on August 11, 1945, to Wilbert C. and Mary M. Landry. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister and loved by all. She was of the Catholic faith and a devoted prayer warrior with a beautiful and kind spirit. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Louis U. "Butch" Thornton Sr.; and siblings, Helen Sievak, Margaret Derouen, Mark Landry and Jude Landry. She was survived by her son, Louis "Butch"(Karen) Thornton Jr. and daughter Maria Thornton; her grandchildren, Louis U. Thornton III, Jessica Rose Thornton and Chandler Rose Parks; her great-grandchild, Benjamin Delarosa; her sisters, JoAnn Emile, Trudy Landry and Clarice Smith; and many other nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport especially, Kevin, Jeanie, Carl, Jr, Jackie, Adam, Dr. Mishra and Amber for their care and compassion. Services will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 9:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
