Adam Mahmood, 27, of Biloxi, November 18, 1988 to January 31, 2016, died peacefully at Ochsner Medical Center, New Orleans after a 16 year courageous battle with liver disease and five liver transplants. Adam was a brave man and hero to all who knew him. His love of life, strength of character and willingness to confront numerous medical challenges were an inspiration to everyone. He will be missed by all those whose life he touched.
Adam was the beloved son of Tariq and Kathryn (Nejak) Mahmood and dear "broskie" of Shan Mahmood. He was preceded in death by grandparents Ismail Mahmood, Nicholas and Catherine Nejak. In addition to his parents and brother, Adam is survived by grandmother Aisha Mahmood, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his beloved cat Donky. The family would like to especially thank Dr. George Loss, Dr. David Bruce, Dr. Nigel Girgrah, all transplant support staff and all physicians involved in Adam's care. A special thank you to the entire surgical ICU and TSU staffs where Adam was loved and treated like family.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 4-9 pm at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pass Road, Biloxi. Mass of Christian burial on Friday, February 5 at 10 am, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2090 Pass Road, Biloxi. Burial to follow at Southern Memorial Park, Biloxi, MS.
