Our beloved Alan Lee McCormick, 61, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Saturday morning, October 16, 2021 at his home in Gulfport, MS.
Alan was born April 16, 1960 at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS to Donald L. McCormick and Lucille E. McCormick.
He graduated from Gulfport High School in 1978 where he was involved in sports and the band.
Alan was married to his soulmate, Angela Thomas McCormick, for 20 precious years.
At the time of his passing, he was the Supervisor of the Fine Jewelry Department at JC Penney. Previous positions included Concrete Inspector, Retail Manager, and Visual Merchandiser. Alan was gifted and had no boundaries to what he could learn or do.
Some of his greatest passions were woodworking, animals, cooking, fishing, music, and making people laugh.
Alan was creative, compassionate, tender hearted, and thoughtful. He loved his wife, family, and friends with all his heart and would give of his time and many gifts to show that love.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Linn McCormick; maternal grandparents, Leroy and Tina Louise Ellzey; and paternal grandparents, Esker Moses and Beulah Goldie McCormick.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angela Thomas McCormick; his mother Lucille Ellzey McCormick; brother Gary Wayne McCormick (Gwen) of Searcy, AR; sister, Debbie McCormick Allred (Cliff) of Mobile, AL; brother-in-law, Craig Thomas of Hattiesburg, MS; four aunts, Willie Jane “Bill” Magnan of Gulfport, MS, Doris Delane of Arnold, MO, Sue Scheer of Arnold, MO, Donna Wheat (Lloyd) Searcy of AR; nieces, Amy McCormick Kemmer (James) Marvel of AR and Amber McCormick Gray (Britt) Beebe of AR; nephew, Brian Craig Thomas (Radka) of Hattiesburg, MS; as well as eight great nieces and nephews, Abigail, Avery, Audrey, Jack, Owen, Luke, Vivian, and Dominic; and lifelong friend, Joey Joyner of Gulfport, MS.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, October 20, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The Celebration of Life service will be Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Grace Memorial Baptist Church, Gulfport, at 1:00 p.m. where friends may visit beginning at noon. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the McCormick family.
