Captain Albert Wesley Pattat ,“Al,” USMC retired, passed away at age 86 on October 4, 2021 at his home in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
He was born in Fayette County, Tennessee on September 29, 1935. He graduated from Fayette County High School as Salutatorian in 1953. In 1954, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he received several distinguished accolades and awards throughout his military career. He also received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He retired from the military in 1975 and began working at Litton Industries, later known as Syscon Corporation. While he worked for Litton, he received several awards and recognition from the US Navy for his hard work and accomplishments.
Al enjoyed farming, reading western books, and smoking his favorite tobacco pipe. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who took pride in taking care of his family. He will be deeply missed by all, especially his wife of 65 years, Dorothy.
He is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Albert Pattat; his mother, Mary Louise (Howard) Belt; and his sister, Mary Frances Pattat.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Pattat; daughters, Debra Brock of Greenfield, TN and Kimberly Stevens and husband Otho of Ocean Springs MS; son, Albert W Pattat and wife Joey of Grand Bay, Al. He also leaves behind a brother, Richard Pattat and wife Iva of Somerville, TN; nine grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
His services will be in Greenfield, Tennessee at Williams Funeral Home.
