Aleda M. Baker, 83, a longtime resident of Copperas Cove, Texas, died Saturday, February 6, 2010, at her residence in Copperas Cove.
Aleda, was born January 30, 1927 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Homer and Hilda (Vallo) Reaux. She retired from AAFES at Fort Hood in Killeen, TX and became involved in Ceramics and Painting in the Copperas Cove community for 25 years.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Baker, in November of 2009 and also two brothers, Geral and Joseph Roy Reaux.
She is survived by a sister, Rita Mae Grieve of Biloxi; a brother, Wilbur Reaux of Biloxi; three sons, Donald Carter of Birmingham, MI, David Carter of Copperas Cove, TX, James Carter of Slidell, LA; a daughter, Ellen Rackley of Copperas Cove, TX; two step-sons, James Baker, and Robert Baker of Copperas Cove, a step- daughter, Marion Hawks of Topeka, KS; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2010, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
