Alfred Antone Kornman, Sr, 93, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born on January 8, 1923 in Biloxi, MS to Clarence and Rosetta Kornman.
Alfred was the last surviving member of the Kornman House Moving business which operated for many years in Biloxi, moving homes, leveling and restoring foundations in the Biloxi area after several hurricanes until Hurricane Katrina took his residence and forced a move to Petal where he lived with his son, Al. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Frances Kornman; parents, Clarence and Rosetta Kornman; sister, Lucille Bernard; brother, Clarence Kornman, Jr; and great grandson, Joseph Farr.
Survivors include his four sons, Alfred “Al” Kornman, Jr (Shirley) of Petal, MS, Thomas Kornman of Mobile, AL, Robert Kornman (Joan) of Centerville, AL, and Steve Kornman (Vicci) of Millbrook, AL; grandchildren, Gregory Kornman, Jason Kornman (Lynn), James Kornman (Hope), Matthew Kornman (Maria), Kimberly Farr (David) and Lindsey Fannin (Jacob); great grandchildren, Isaiah and Mary Grace Kornman, Wells Farr and Ally Fannin; step great grandchildren, Lakyn and Zacharee Stewart; and nephew, Michael Kornman.
Visitation will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park.
