Alfred L.. Elmore

Mr. Alfred L. Elmore, Jr., 75, of Biloxi, MS, died Friday, October 21, 2005, in Biloxi. Mr. Elmore was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in 1951 where he taught as an electronics instructor. After his time in the military Mr. Elmore opened Biloxi T.V. in 1954. Over the years he owned and operated Allen Appliance, Edgewater T.V. and Appliance and later opened Luckies Furniture Store in 1964. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Biloxi. Mr. Elmore was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah E. Nix, and his parents, Alfred L. Elmore, Sr. and June Elmore Reese. Survivors include his wife, Helen Elmore of Biloxi; a daughter, Susan Shireman and her husband, Steven, of Biloxi; two sons, Steven Elmore and his wife, Vicki, of Biloxi and Kevin Elmore and his wife, Jenny, of Biloxi; his son-in-law, William Nix and his wife, Jo, of Ocean Springs; two sisters, Lois Gandy of St. Martin and Rosella Hooten of Longview, Texas; one brother, Robert Elmore of Longview, Texas; eight grandchildren, Paul Elmore and his wife, Jennifer, of Biloxi; Amber Elmore of Jackson; Ashley Elmore of Biloxi; Amy Nix of Biloxi; Tara Elmore of Bay St. Louis; Glenn Shireman of Biloxi and Stephanie Nix of Ocean Springs and one great grandchild, Caleb Favre. Mr. Elmore's family would like to thank Dr. Regina Mills and staff for their care and compassion over the years. Private services were held at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi.
