Alice Kathleen (Thornton) Bowdon, originally from Biloxi, was born June 14, 1957 and died August 4, 2011 in Meridian, MS. Alice was a hairstylist and the manager of several salons in both California and Arizona before moving to Meridian. Alice also worked at the Hwy. 19 Wal-Mart before her health made her quit.
Alice's father, Charles W. Thornton passed away in August of 2008. She is also preceded in death by her beloved Aunt Winifred Fest; cousin, Fletcher Fest and a great niece, Delilah Thornton.
Alice is survived by her mother and step-father, Kathleen and Donald Shaffer; brother, Wildon (Sonny) Thornton; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Jerry Boudreaux all of Meridian; her brother and sister-in-law, Fred, Sr. and Lisa Thornton; three nephews, Adam, Fred, Jr. and David Thornton as well as their wives and children all of Biloxi. Alice's memory will also live on in the hearts of her large extended family and her many, many friends. Alice attended Pine Springs Southern Methodist Church in Meridian.
The family invites you to attend a celebration of Alice's life to be held at East Howard Baptist Church in Biloxi on Friday, August 12, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
