Alice Susan King

Alice Susan King, beloved mother, sister and grandmother, 74, of Gulfport, was called home to rest on Sunday, March 27, 2022.  She was surrounded by family. Susan remained optimistic, determined and strong throughout her battle with cancer. Her example of grace, resilience and perseverance will be remembered.

Susan was a long-time owner of Auto-Owners Insurance Agency. During her career, she was regional manager of eight offices located throughout Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama and Louisiana. She also worked as a retail merchandiser. 

Susan loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals for her family, taking trips to visit her grandkids, cruising with her best friend (Gwen Toncrey), and attending horse shows with her brother Jimmy and Joan (her other best friend). She made it her mission to improve the lives of others.

Susan particularly enjoyed her quiet spot, watching her favorite shows with her princess Tinkie in her lap and spending time with her daughter Brandi on weekends. 

Susan’s daughters and grandchildren were a great source of pride in her life and she was devoted to encouraging and supporting them throughout their passions and challenges. She was very loving with each and every one of her family members and friends. 

Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Willie Crabtree and her daughter Terry Toncrey Pasley. She is survived by her daughter, Brandi (Shannon) McClung of Gulfport and her brother, Jimmy (Joan) Estes, nephew Brian (Stacy) Estes, niece Kelly Brown and nephew Lee Bailey.   She has five grandchildren, Kristen (Chris) Lowrance, Lauren Pasley, Brook Pasley, Nick McClung  and Chas McClung. She also has eight great-grandchildren: Khylea Johnson, Carter Johnson, Raylon Lowrance, Ryder Lowrance, Hayden Thompson, Harper Allen, Tristen Goolsby, Aislynn Goolsby, Landon Lowrance and devoted son in law BJ Pasley. 

She was unique and special to each one of us. Her presence will be greatly missed. 

The family will honor Alice Susan King with a celebration of life at a later date.
