Alice Tanner King

Alice Tanner King, age 80, of Vancleave, MS., died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in Gautier. Ms. King was a life long resident of the coast. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father, William A. Tanner and mother, Sabra Elta Moe Tanner; brother, James Tanner and four sisters, Margaret Buckingham, Sabra Fox and two infant sisters. Survivors include two sons, Timothy (Patricia) King of Vancleave and Thomas (Samantha) King of D'Iberville; five sisters, Barbara Comeaux, Geraldine Carlander, Mary Lou Ridgdell all of Vancleave, Anna Bynum of Wilsonville, AL., and Patricia Booty of Sasury, OH; one brother, Samuel Tanner of Vancleave; eight granchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Community Church of Christ where friends may visit thirty minutes prior. Interment will be in Latter Day Saints Cemetery in Vancleave, MS. The family wants to thank the administrators and staff of River Chase Village, the nurses and staff of Southern Care Hospice and the good people of Community Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, family prefers donations to be made to Community Church of Christ Building Fund, 12205 Mount Pleasant Road, Vancleave, MS 39565.
