Alice Jean Weems

Alice Weems, age 63, of Biloxi, passed away on February 18, 2024 at home surrounded by family that loved her greatly.

Alice was born September 1, 1958 in Pascagoula. She attended MGCCC. Alice was a loving a caring person who spent many of her working years helping others as a nurse. She put others above herself and loved to make people happy.

Alice lived for her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and an amazing grandmother. Never too tired to hear about your day; never too sick to play with the little ones; never too upset to show a smile; never selfish; and always ready for your company no matter what was going on in life.

Alice was strong. She battled cancer for many years. She never gave up on life. Alice fought when others thought all hope was lost. She overcame so many obstacles and took everything life threw at her with a smile and a fighting spirit.

Alice was a shining beacon to us all and she will be greatly missed and always loved.

Alice was proceeded in death by her mother, Evelyn Barnes and father, Curtis Barnes.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Weems; daughters, Jennifer Wingate, Elizabeth Dubose and Dawn Ladnier; grandchildren, Constance Wingate, Austin Wingate, Mackenzie Wingate, Destiny Miller, and Emilia Dubose; great-grandchildren, Brantlyn Miller, Anna Johnson, Kason Johnson, Brylee Miller, and Avery Groth; sisters, Gay Barnes, Barbara McIntire, Pauline Doner, and Angela Kanaski; brother, Curtis Barnes Jr.; sister-in-law, Susan Weems; and sons-in-law, Duane Wingate and Billy Dubose.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
