Mrs. Allie Maurine (Beckie) Turner Mullen Richards, age 106, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2013, at Settlers' Cove in Biloxi.
She was born on September 7, 1907, at Coila, Mississippi, and had lived in Chicago and Tchula, MS before moving to Ocean Springs in 1980. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs and the Lexington (MS) Chapter #30 Order of Eastern Star. She also served as a Pink Lady for the Ocean Springs Hospital Auxiliary.
Mrs. Richards was preceded in death by her parents, Simon Hester Turner and Kate Duncan Turner, her twin sister, Irene Turner, brother, William Percy Turner, her husbands, Walter E. Mullen and William Thomas Richards and her son, William Franklin Mullen.
Survivors include her son, Walter E. Mullen of Ocean Springs, MS, daughter-in-law, Martha Mullen of Pullman, Washington, grandsons, Alan (Dorena) Mullen of Georgetown, Kentucky, Jon (Rachel) Mullen of Richmond, Texas, Dr. Walter IV (Janet) Mullen of Starkville, MS, great-grandchildren, Allie Mullen and Samuel Mullen and step-great-granddaughter, Lawanda Prine.
The family wishes to express deep appreciation for the loving care and concern provided by Erica James and the staff of Settlers' Cove and the nurses and aides of Deaconess Hospice.
Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Ocean Springs followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Michael Barnett officiating.
