Mrs. Alma Tucei Cook, 87, of Biloxi, MS, died Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Living in Biloxi all her life, Alma was a long time member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and a devout Catholic. She graduated from Biloxi High School; she was a past band mother, past president of the PTA and a member of the Neighborhood Club for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, James H. Cook, Sr.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Tucei, Sr.; in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cook, Sr.; brother, J. B. Tucei, Jr.; sister, Lillie Tucei Dick, and daughter in-law, Donna Nowak Cook.
She is survived by her children, James H. Cook, Jr., Cynthia Cook Cavanaugh, and Jo Lynn Cook (Robert) Reeder; grandchildren, Oreta Cook (Phillip) McMillan, Dr. Henry (Kelly) Cook, Angie Cook Swan, and Clifford (Shannon) Cook, Kerry Cavanaugh (Bryan) Stoddard, Patrick Cavanaugh, Lauren Reeder, Robert Reeder, III, and Garrett Reeder; great grandchildren, Blake, Craig and Brooke McMillan, Ryan, Joseph, Kara and Seth Cook, Edwin, Brycen and Alexis Witcher; brothers and sisters, Fred Tucei, Valmae Howarth, Inez Taylor, Harry Tucei, and Claire Breal; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to her caregivers Bonnie and Jeanette, Cannon Hospice and Dr. Paul Matherne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
