Alva Malton Basque

Mr. Alva Malton Basque, age 86, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Monday, November 30, 2009, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Basque was a lifelong resident of the coast and served in the U.S. Navy for twenty years. He won several awards for excellence in the food service industry, was a tender-hearted man who contributed to charities for many years and was quick to feel compassion for the suffering. He now has gone to be with his loved ones who have passed and those who will come. He was preceded in death by his son, Brent Matthew Basque. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ethel Wood Basque of Ocean Springs, MS., a son, Anthony Mark Basque of Mobile, AL., sister, Floy Lee Amos, and brother, Bernard Basque, both of Ocean Springs, MS. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 5, 2009, from 1 PM until 3 PM at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.
