Mr. Alvin Bryan Spear, age 86, of Biloxi, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022.
Mr. Spear was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville, MS. He was a loving Dad and Paw-Paw and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Spear is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Marguerite Spear; wife, Adrienne Diaz Spear; son, Kenny Spear; and by his daughter, Stacey Spear Wilson. Survivors include his son, Bryan Spear; daughters, Mary Spear Bourgeois (Ronnie) and Monica Spear Mathews (Jeffrey); eight grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
Mr. Spear was the best teacher by example, he loved and lived life to the fullest. No-one was ever a stranger to him. He was a giver from his heart, no questions asked.
Mr. Spear was known as being a hard worker, he was a jack of all trades, he had a hard exterior, but was soft on the inside, especially with the grandchildren, precise delegator. He loved being on the water, could fix anything with duct tape. We often referred to him as MacGyver. Loved to garden, was patriotic, frugal, always had a story to tell. And if you ever needed a bucket—he had it! He was a master boiler of any type of seafood. He and his wife were like a feather on the dance floor, enjoying the big band era.
