Amareeon Machi Mason Carter, 19, of Gulfport, Mississippi passed away suddenly on March 18, 2023. Amareeon was born on August 6, 2003 to Jacquelynn Rose Curry in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Amareeon graduated distinguished from Gulfport High School in 2021. After graduating, he went on to work for O’Briens Diesel Mechanic. Following that, he went to work for DHD offshore services with his dad Tony Curry as a rigger.
Amareeon was an incredible person, known for his outstanding qualities and interests. He had a remarkable sense of humor that could lighten up anyone's mood, and he always had a kind heart towards others. Amareeon was always willing to go the extra mile to help those in need, whether it be friends or strangers.
Amareeon also had several hobbies that he enjoyed doing in his free time. Sports were an essential aspect of Amareeon's life since childhood, most favorably basketball, allowing him to express himself physically while enjoying the game with family and friends. Another significant hobby was fishing; he loved spending hours by the water with his fishing rod in hand. In fact, during high school at Gulfport High School where he graduated, Amareeon became part of the Bass Fishing Club. Moreover, another passion that drove him was cars; therefore, he joined The Street Assassin's Car Club. In addition to this club membership, Amareeon was also actively involved in other clubs such as Key Club, which focuses on community service projects, Spanish Club, which celebrates Hispanic culture, and Interact Club, which represents the High School with helping new students adapt and interact, and the Engineering Club.
He is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Jan Foretich Carter.
Survivors include: parents, Jacquelynn Rose Curry and Tony Curry; biological father, Courtney Hodges; brothers, Braylin Carter and Courtlend Curry; sisters, Lilyana Hooker and Audrey (Kamila); and grandfather, Jimmy L. Carter, Sr.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday March 24, 2023 at Bible Baptist Church, 12200 Dedeaux Rd, Gulfport, MS 39503. Visitation will be from 9:30am-12pm followed by a service at 12:00 p.m.
The pallbearers will include: Brent Prestenbach Sr, Brent Prestenbach Jr, Darrel Biggs, Michael Parker, Tres Ladner, Caleb Burch, John Fair and Robert Warren.
Following all services, the family invites you all to join them to continue the celebration of life for Amareeon at Felix’s Oyster House Lawn, 942 Beach Drive, Gulfport, Mississippi 39507.
