Ana Maria Varga

Ana Maria Varga of Ocean Springs died in her home with her family Saturday, September 16, 2006. She courageously battled breast cancer for the last 6 years, and taught all of us how to live life to the fullest one day at a time. She left us a lesson of love. Ana Maria was born in Mendoza, Argentina in 1956. She studied Psychology and was a born artist. Pottery, painting, cross stitch and any other creative work flowed freely from her hands. She met the man with whom she would share all the rest of her life at 18, and married him at 20. She and Dionisio celebrated the next 30 years together - all the rest of her life. In 2001, she and her family fulfilled their ambition of coming to America, and Ana Maria became a permanent resident in 2004. She anticipated becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen if time allowed. Ana Maria was a devoted wife and an excellent mother of her four children: Lucas (29), Florencia (26), Julian (25) and Victoria (14). Ana Maria attended St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church with her family. She fervently believed in God and knew that God loves us and cares for us in our sickness. Ana Maria felt that God blessed her with every new day she was given. This faith gave Ana Maria strength and determination throughout her illness, and by her example she inspired strength and encouragement in her family, friends, and all who knew her. She will always be remembered for her kindness, quick wit and humor, the way she embraced life, and the joy she brought always to her family. A Memorial Mass will be held at 6pm on Thursday, September 21st at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Ocean Springs.
