Andrea Ray Ward-Rushing

Andrea Ray Ward-Rushing, of D’Iberville and Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away after a courageous two-year battle with cancer in her home in Woolmarket, MS in the presence of her husband, Charles Rushing and sons, Josh and James Ward. She faced every challenge with strength, independence, and determination, qualities that defined her throughout her life.

Born and raised in the Gulf Coast area, Andrea was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic High School, Class of 1976. She built a fulfilling career with Coast Cardiovascular Associates on Cedar Lake Road in Biloxi, where she dedicated many years of service. Beyond her work, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time outdoors and near the water, surrounded by the beauty of the coast she loved so much.

A passionate dart player, Andrea competed in leagues along the Gulf Coast for years, earning several championships along the way. Whether at the dartboard or in life, she was known for her competitive spirit and resilience. She was a homebody at heart, cherishing time with her beloved animals and the comfort of her home.

Andrea was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Ray Robinson; and her brothers, Kendall “Kenny” Robinson and William “Bill” Robinson. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Charles Rushing, and her loving children: Joshua (Rachael) Ward, James (Meghan) Ward, Lisa (Chris) Morgan, Rhonda (Clayton) Klchosky, and Kelly (Greg) Olin. Her legacy also lives on in her cherished grandchildren: Hollie (Caden) Grover, Aaron Morgan, Kaitlyn Ward, Abigail and Isabella Ward, Lyric Ward, and Sadie Belle Ward.

Andrea kept everyone on their toes with her strong will and fierce spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In Lieu of Flowers the Donations can be made to St Jude Children’s Research or the American Cancer Society in Andreas honor. 

A memorial service will be held at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Friends may visit one hour prior.
