Angelina Russo Mihojevich, a long time resident of Biloxi passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at home. Mrs. Mihojevich was 100 years old and had been feted last September with a party to celebrate her life. Mrs. Mihojevich was born on September 27, 1907 in New Orleans to Salvador and Olivia (Fallo) Russo. She was one of 13 children and the last to survive. Mrs. Mihojevich spent parts of her childhood living in Biloxi with the John Fallo family and also living with her sister, Josephine Russo Anglado. On April 27, 1927, Angie Russo married Tony Mihojevich at Nativity BVM church and moved to Point Cadet. She resided at 220 Myrtle Street for 78 years. Mrs. Mihojevich was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Mihojevich; her daughter, Stephanie M. Pizzetta and her great-great-granddaughter, Laighla William. She is survived by her daughter, Claudette M. Quigley; sister-in-law, Marguerite Mihojevich and her 10 grandchildren, Debbie Quigley, Keith Quigley, Lori Quigley, Gregory Quigley, Marilyn Farris, Laughlin Quigley, Donna P. Lyons, Daria Pizzetta, Don Pizzetta, Jr. and Dolores Pizzetta. She has 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mihojevich's greatest joy was her family. For decades, she cooked Sunday dinner for her children and grandchildren, who showed up precisely at noon, after attending mass at St. Michael's. Mrs. Mihojevich was a member of the St. Michael's Altar Society, the Slavonian Ladies Auxiliary and Sacred Heart Academy PTA. Her husband, Tony Mihojevich reigned as Shrimp King in 1972. For years, Mrs. Mihojevich was employed at the Gulf Central Seafood Factory. She was the 2000 Lions Club Mother of the Year. Mrs. Mihojevich will be remembered as a pillar of the Slavonian community that occupied Point Cadet. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to: St. Michael's Catholic Church, 177 First St., Biloxi, MS 39530 or St. Vincent DePaul Society, c/o Our Lady of Fatima, 2090 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church from 9:30 am until 11:30 am. A Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 am.
