It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anita Beth Foster Denham on April 12, 2025. She was surrounded by family.
Nita, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on December 27, 1958 in Houston, MS. She graduated from Biloxi High School in 1976.
Nita was a beloved bus driver for Harrison County Schools and Biloxi Public Schools for a combined 32 years. Her Woolmarket Elementary students will remember her taking them skating and how Nita participated in the school talent show. She grew up in the same neighborhood to which she returned after marrying. Her neighbors of many years also mourn her passing.
Throughout her life, Nita held fast to the belief that family was everything. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Atha Foster; daughter, Cheryl Still; and brother, Rodney Foster. She leaves behind her husband, Rick Denham; daughters, Jennifer Denham and Paige Whittington and her husband, Ethen; and grandchildren, Caden Denham, Libby Still, and JJ Still. She also leaves behind brothers, Mike Foster and his wife, Barbara and Barney Foster and his wife, Naomi as well as Rick’s sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Len Buttermore.
In her later years, Nita enjoyed spending time with her husband, Rick, and her 3 much-loved dogs.
A celebration of her life will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Ave. in Biloxi on Thursday, April 24th from 11:00-12:30. A private interment will take place at the Biloxi National cemetery.
