Ann Blanche Springer Hopkins passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 in her home in Pass Christian, MS and at 91 years old, had just celebrated her 70th wedding anniversary. She graduated from Tulane University in Journalism. She married Stanhope Felix Hopkins on January 10, 1946. They raised four (4) children in New Orleans: Stanhope Felix Hopkins, Jr. (Sheryl), Martha Vance Hopkins Feldman (Richard), Peter Hyde Hopkins (Jean), and Marian Gayle Hopkins Verlander (Kenneth). They have five (5) grandchildren and seven (7) great grandchildren so far. Ann’s parents were Ester Vance Springer and Warren Golding Springer. Her older sister, Ester Springer Gough, is deceased. She is survived by her aunt, Dorothy Jones Vance, who is alive and well in Illinois and a nephew, Warren Gough, in Florida. Warren’s brother, John Gough, is deceased.
Ann was active in many social and charitable organizations, including the Junior League of New Orleans and Le Petite Salon. She enjoyed working at Tulane University Law School arranging Tax and Admiralty Institutes for 35 years.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at her home in Pass Christian.
