Ann Grace Jelusich Newman, 84, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in D’Iberville.
Ann was a native and lifelong resident of the coast. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Ann loved her family and her life with a passion that always shown through her sweet smile and loving hugs, never judging and always caring. She was Valedictorian of SHHS Class of 1954. Ann was an x-ray technician for Dr. John B. O’Keefe, MD and formerly employed with Quality Home Health. Ann’s favorite pastime was her Bingo games with her friends. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, former member of Nativity BVM Cathedral and St. Vincent de Paul.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Albertha Conovich Jelusich; her granddaughter, Candice Newman; and her sisters, Theresa Baricev and Mary Elaine Nedderson.
Ann’s survivors include her husband of 67 years, Thomas A. Newman; her daughter, Frances (Quention) Stanovich; her sons, Mark (Dianne Deno) Newman, John (Bernadette) Newman, Matthew (Winky) Newman and Luke (Teresa) Newman; her daughter-in-law, Dian Newman; her brother, Joseph Jelusich; and her grandchildren, Ashlei (Dennis) Stanovich, Jobe (Becca) Newman, Brooke (Jerrod) Broadus, Hope (Keyton) Anders, Kahlee Reid, Brianna Newman, Amanda (Nathan) Cameron, Matthew M. Newman, Jordan (Ken) Barnett and Andrew Newman; and eleven great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Sadds Hospice and Greenbriar Nursing Home for their care and devotion for Ann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 12:00 pm. Friends may visit from 10:30 am until Mass time. A private family interment will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery.
