Ann "Hon" Johnson

Ann “Hon" Johnson, age 79, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at her home in Vancleave, MS.

Hon was born in Pampa, Texas but lived all over the country in her lifetime. She settled on the coast with her family in 1993.  She graduated from Galena Park High School in Houston, Texas. She worked for Blossman Gas in Ocean Springs and she retired in 2005. Hon was one of a kind. Hon loved her family dearly and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was famous for protecting them, always asking “Do I need to make someone cry?”, and she truly meant it when sensing some support was in need.  Hon was quick-witted, fiercely loyal, and difficult at times, but we wouldn’t have had it any other way. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Hon was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Cora Duncan; her brother, Douglas Duncan; and beloved husband, Karl A. Johnson, Jr.

Survivors include daughter, Crystal Jones (Timothy); her grandchildren, Austin Shaw (Erin), Aidan Shaw, Jake Shaw, Amber Jones, and Ryan Jones; great-grandsons, Asher Shaw and Axel Shaw; and last, but not least, her favorite, Ms. Kitty, the cat.

As per her request, there will be no service.  She will be cremated, and the ashes will be spread with her husband in Galveston Bay.  They are finally together again.
