Ann Taft Bosse', mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, born February 18, 1920, in California, Pennsylvania, died peacefully August 19, 2007 at G.C. Medical Center after complications related to hip surgery. She was 87.
A 55 year resident of Biloxi, Ann medically retired from the Civil Service at Keesler Air Force Base Hospital in 1976 where she had worked as a Pathology Department medical secretary for 16 years. After retirement, Ann became a successful local author by publishing Biloxi Bacon, a cookbook compilation of Gulf Coast and Cajun cuisine sold at tourist establishments around the coast including Beauvoir - home of Jefferson Davis.
Ann was preceded in death by her only son, Albert J. (Jerry) Taft, Jr., in 1973, and her husband Russ Bosse' in 1987.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca A. Wilcox of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Kathryn T. Salmon of Seattle, Washington. Additional survivors include grandson, Justin M. Salmon of Nashville, Tennessee, granddaughter, Erin S. Chegwidden of Seattle and great granddaughter, Laura Elaine Salmon of Nashville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ann's name to the Paralyzed Veterans of America - one of her favorite charities.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi. Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband, and near her son, in Biloxi Cemetery.
