Anna Miller, age 89, of Ocean Springs, MS, went to meet her Lord on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.
Anna was a long-time resident of Ocean Springs. After retiring as a guidance counselor at the Gautier Middle School, she gave of her time in volunteer activities. For over 20 years she volunteered at the Gulf Islands National Seashore where a tour boat was christened the “Miss Anna” in her honor. She encouraged everyone for over 24 years with her smile, as an Ocean Springs Hospital Auxiliary member. She loved the East Central Library and served as volunteer and Friends Member. She loved her church where she taught Sunday School for years, then continued with a “card ministry” to encourage others.
She received her higher education in Education and Guidance at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, and at the University of Southern Mississippi, in Hattiesburg.
Survivors include her three children, William D. Miller (Kathy), Carol Vice (Jerry Albright), and Ann Neal (Timmie); seven grandchildren, Curt Vice (Aimee), Ben Vice, Joey Miller, Jeremy Brown (Trisha), Michele Vice, J. J. Vice (Brittany), Jonathan Brown (Dwanna); and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 3:00 pm. Friends may visit the family one hour prior.
