Anna Kuluz Thompson

Anna Thompson entered into eternal rest late in the evening on Thursday, July 18 in her home in Biloxi. The life-long Point Cadet resident was born December 11, 1924 to the late Annie Mozara Kuluz and Tony M. Kuluz. She was a faithful and devout Catholic and volunteered countless hours to St. Michael’s Catholic Church as a member of St. Michael’s Altar Society. Anna attended St. Michael’s Elementary and Sacred Heart High School. She was a charter member of the Slavonian Ladies Auxiliary and was extremely involved with their annual pusharata sale and the Slavic International Golf Tournament. She worked as a bookkeeper at Biloxi Canning Company, Biloxi Freezing Company and C.F. Gollott and Sons Seafood and always remembered her friends and colleagues fondly. She enjoyed weekly card games with her close friends and cousins and occasional casino visits. Anna was a major supporter of any activity involving her children and grandchildren and was often seen cheering them on at local ballparks and theatres. She loved most of all to be surrounded by her family, just as she was at the time of her passing. She is preceded in death by husband Douglas Vincent Thompson, infant son Douglas Wayne Thompson, infant grandson, Kirk Thompson, Jr., infant granddaughter, Kelly Thompson; her parents Annie Mozara Kuluz and Tony M. Kuluz; sisters Dorothy Kuluz, Frances Kuluz Mattina; mother-in-law Willamena Thompson and father-in-law Edgar Thompson; brothers Mathew and Anthony George Kuluz; daughter-in-law, Jill Marie Thompson; sister-in-law Ramona Eleuterius Scruggs and brothers-in-law Ed and "Spud" Thompson. She is survived by her children Tommy Thompson, Kirk Thompson, Tina Thompson, and grandson Cliff Thompson all of Biloxi, MS; grandson Doug (Jessie) Thompson and great-grandson, Cameron Cole of Baton Rouge, LA; sisters Rita Pelaez, Rosalie Galle, Marie Covacevich (Jack), and many beloved nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her primary physicians, Dr. Eva Mageris and Dr. Paul Pavlov. Also, Southern Hospice, especially nurse Liz. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Jill Thompson Foundation 2164 Harmanson Vue, Biloxi, 39531. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. Friends may visit two hours prior. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
