Anne Dillon Peck

Anne Dillon Peck, wife, mother and homemaker, of Biloxi, MS, died May 12, 2010, in Ridgeland, MS. Anne was born and raised in Nashville, TN, the fourth of four children born to Irving Franklin Dillon and Ola Clouse Dillon. Anne met former ballroom dance instructor and future husband, Joe Page Peck, at a YMCA dance following WWll. In 1956, Anne married Joe, who joined the Air Force Judge Advocate's corps. Thus began a life of dancing and traveling. Anne, Joe and family lived in or visited much of the world. With an adept ear, Anne was able to assimilate phrases from the countries they visited – especially Japan and Germany - into her daily conversations, sharing enthusiasm for foreign languages with everyone she met along the way. Settling in Biloxi after their Air Force career, Anne and Joe set out to finish seeing all 50 states (the last being Nebraska, just so they “got ‘em all in”). In addition to her love for ballroom, round and square dancing, Anne excelled creatively in sewing and ceramics. She loved to entertain, often providing Minnie Pearl impersonations and comedic “magic” performances with her husband to amuse friends and guests. Wherever the Pecks were stationed they became involved in the local base chapel. Anne was a devoted Christian who worshiped and served more than 25 years in the Traditional Protestant Worship Services at Keesler AFB. Survivors include her daughter, Victoria Blaha of Brandon, MS, son Joe Peck of Arlington, VA, brother Franklin Irving Dillon of Nashville, TN, sister Mary Elizabeth Mason of Green Hills, TN, brother James Edward Dillon of Brentwood, TN; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Col. Joe Page Peck. A memorial will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe on Pass Road in Biloxi at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial donations may feel free to direct them to a favorite charity.
