Anne French Pierce

Anne French Pierce, 101, died Friday, October 13, 2023, at Greenbriar Nursing Center in D’Iberville.

She was born July 23, 1922, to Richard Clark French and Marion Newman French in St. Joseph, MO.

Anne worked for the Daily Herald in downtown Gulfport in the early 1950s and later went to work for the Gulfport Police Department where she retired in 1984.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Pierce; parents; and brother, Richard French.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Sugar Lee Surginer of Gulfport, MS; son, Lane M. Pierce (Thuan) of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Mitchell Surginer (Chantelle), Ashley Pierce, and Don Nguyen (Quahyn); great grandchildren, Landon Surginer, Lily Surginer, Sean Alley, Kaelyn Nguyen, and Ethan Nguyen.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 20, 2023, at Bradford- O’Keefe Funeral Home, 1726 15^th Street, Gulfport, MS. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00PM and burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens, Long Beach, MS. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home 15^th Street is honored to serve the Pierce family.
