Annie C. Rush, nee Bishop, 78, of Gulfport, MS after a long and fulfilling life, died on Sunday April 18, 2010. Born in Jackson, MS on October 6, 1931, in 1950 she married John R. (Tubby) Rush. Together they had five children and eleven grandchildren.
Ann spent many happy years in the Middle East and had a great appreciation for the experience. With her husband, she was a world traveler and always brought back humorous tales and regaled us with her unique perspective of the many cultures she visited. Ann and her husband retired to Gulfport in 1989 to be near family.
Her husband and her parents John and Minnie Bell Bishop preceded her in death.
Ann is survived by her beloved sister, Billie R. Butler; her children Robert S. Rush (Edith) of Stafford, VA, Jeffrey Rush (Dawn) of Denham Springs, LA, Jana L. Rush (Ed Engle) of Manitou Springs, CO, Benjamin B. Rush (Connie) of Yazoo City, MS, Jeb M. Rush (Brooks) of Mandeville, LA; and grandchildren Christina, Varina, AnneMarie, Miriam, Robert, Samantha, Caitlin, Rebekah, Noah,
John, and Jeffrey.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport with the visitation beginning at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery at a later date.
