Annie Strangi Meeboer lived a long and exciting life, two months shy of 102, born and raised in Biloxi. She came from a large family of 9 siblings, grew up in Woolmarket where groceries were delivered by horse. Her father, Santo Strangi, was recently honored with being inducted into the Maritime Seafood Museum Hall of Fame in Biloxi. She married William Meeboer and together had 3 sons, all military pilots, and a daughter who was a Laboratory Manager. She watched Keesler grow into the base it is today. They traveled the world with a long Air Force career, her teaching bowling (was a Senior Olympics gold medal winner) and Maj Jong at bases they lived in Panama, the Azores, Louisiana, Nebraska, and Biloxi. She loved gardening, sewing, (she wanted to be a fashion designer at one time), and traveling to visit families scattered across the country. She adored all of her 8 grandchildren and spouses, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Later in life, she had so much fun at casinos around town. The family had many fun times at her house on the water. She spent the last ten years at a wonderful assisted living facility for Air Force widows in Shalimar, FL, where she was the bingo queen and where family came often to visit her. She will be missed by so many immediate and extended family members and friends.
