Mrs. Annie Ophelia Simmons, age 84, of Vancleave, MS., died on Monday, July 13, 2009, in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Simmons was born on December 8, 1924, and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Paul S. Simmons, father, Howard Owens, mother, Lillian (Calvin) Hessler, brothers, Milton Owens and Lealon Owens, and a granddaughter, Paula Simmons.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry Simmons of St. Rose, LA., Terry (Julie) Simmons of Vancleave, MS., and Larry (Nelda) Simmons of Moyock, N.C., three brothers, John (Judy) Owens, Jimmy (Shirley) Owens and Timmy Owens, three sisters, Erline (Curtis) Smith, Evelyn (Luther Wayne) Smith and Edith Pannell, six grandchildren, Lisa Kiehm, Sharon Simmons, Brandon Simmons, Megan Simmons, Paul J. Simmons and Tera Lindsey, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation was on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, from 5 PM - 7 PM, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Thursday, July 16, 2009, there will be a 10 AM chapel service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
