Arne Griffin

Arne "Grit" McRae Griffin died unexpectedly in his sleep at the age of 58 on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 in Ocean Springs, MS. He was born on October 28, 1948 in Moss Point, MS. to the late Forest McRae Griffin and Cathleen Celma Cross Griffin. He attended grade school in Moss Point and graduated from Ocean Springs High in 1966. After serving in the United States Navy from January 1968 to January 1988, he retired to the DC area. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Buchanan and Selma A. Guttormson Cross of Charles City, IA, and Carl and Minnie Walker Griffin of Moss Point, MS. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Leslie Susan Wiggins Griffin; his daughters, Tanya Theresa Griffin of Alexandria, VA and Nicole Alexandra Griffin and fiancé John Christopher Daniel both of Reston, VA; his siblings, Betty G. Madison of Mobile, AL, Creig Griffin, Devan Griffin, and Randall "Randy" Griffin all of Ocean Springs, MS. and Mena Teal of Loxly, AL along with assorted nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 19, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2007 in the chapel of the funeral home. Pastor Terri Stagne will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
