Arthur J. McCaleb, Jr.

Mr. Arthur J. "Sonny" McCaleb, 90, of Biloxi died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in Biloxi. Mr. McCaleb was a lifelong resident of Biloxi and a graduate of Biloxi High School Class of 1938. He was employed with Bell South, with 38 years of service. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. Mr. McCaleb was named Sun Herald's Good Neighbor award in 2001. Mr. McCaleb is preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Elliott and Inez McCaleb; two brothers, Milton and Murrell McCaleb; nephew, Wayne Elliott. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, D'Voe McCaleb; two daughters, Judith Miley Thomas (Gene), Rosemary Miley; two sons, James Miley (DeVera), and David McCaleb; a sister, Dotsie McCaleb; niece, Shelly Elliott-Huff; nephew, Charles Elliott; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be Friday, May 27, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the St. Michael's Grotto Fund. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
