Audrey Marion Lechner Batia

September 6, 1928 — December 2, 2023

Biloxi

Audrey Marion Lechner Batia, 95, passed away December 2, 2023. She was born September 6, 1928 in Biloxi along-side her twin sister Aurelia to Henry and Maude “Baker” Lechner.

Audrey embraced life with a spirit of elegance and a heart full of compassion. Known for her warm welcoming heart, she touched the lives of those around her in ways words cans scarcely capture. Her genuine love and kind heart brought comfort to all those that were fortunate enough to know her.

Audrey graduated from Biloxi High School with the Class of 1947. She retired in 1991, from AAFES at Keesler Airforce Base where she proudly spent that time as a supervisor over book keeping for the warehouse.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Audrey had a profound love for exploration. Her passion for travel took her across America, creating memories that enriched her life. Yet, amidst her adventures, she found solace in the simple joys – basking in the sun, spending tranquil days on the porch, and cherishing life’s quiet moments – welcoming neighbors and friends with open arms.
May her love continue to resonate in the gentle breeze, the warmth of the sun, and the shared laughter of those who were touched by her remarkable presence.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband William Eugene Batia; her parents, Henry and Maude Lechner; sisters, Margaret Lechner Parker and Aurelia Lechner LeBatard; brother, Alton Lechner; son, William “Bill” Batia; and daughter, Becky Batia.

Audrey is survived by her beloved family including daughter, Pamela Batia Geiser; daughter-in-law, Sara Smith Batia; grandchildren, Michelle (Steve) Hall, Georgia (Lance) Dotson, April (Shane) Brown, William “Billy” (Lee) Batia, Jaime (Crystal) Geiser Istre, Jenny (Aaron) Parker and Natalie (Olivia) Geiser; great-grandchildren, Cole, Zach, Lauren (Josh), Stone, Cannon, Madison, Bryson, Cade, Asher and Elijah; two great-great grandchildren, Addie and Archie; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.
