Avery Isaac Johnson

Avery Isaac "Piggy" Johnson, 19, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 in Biloxi, Mississippi. Avery was a native of Gulfport, and worked as a Deputy Circuit Clerk for Harrison County under Connie Ladner.

Avery was the best brother, son, cousin, nephew, and friend around. He never met a stranger, and always had a smile and kind word no matter what he was doing or where he was.

He enjoyed making people smile or laugh. He hated to see people unhappy, but he understood sometimes it was necessary to get through life's curveballs. 

Wise beyond his years sometimes, he loved to talk philosophy, multiple dimensions, and if ghosts are real.  He liked crackers and he liked cell phones and he couldn't help himself. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William T. "Tom" Mize and Eleanor E. "Lollie" Mize, and by his aunt, Phyllis L. "Lemmie" Sheffield.

He is survived by his parents, Stephen T. and Amy E. Mize Johnson of Gulfport; his sister, Samantha N. Mize (Laura) of Biloxi; his brothers, Grey T. Johnson of Biloxi and James A. Johnson of Gulfport; his paternal grandparents, Jan A. Hale of Gulfport and G. T. Johnson II (Marcia) of Gulfport; his uncles, Eric N. Johnson (Becky) of Navarro, Fl. and Sean Johnson (Colleen) of Gonzales, La.; his aunts, Jeri M. Graves (Steve) of Chesapeake, Va. and Bonnie C. Tisdale (Tyler) of Fussa, Tokyo; and numerous cousins, all of whom he loved.

Family and friends are invited to visit Avery one last time on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home at 15th St/Hwy 90. Visitation for family will be at 11 am. Friends are invited to join us at noon. There will be a service at 1:30 pm. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15^th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Johnson family.
