Avis Marie Dolson

Mrs. Avis Marie Dolson, 77, of Biloxi, MS, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010, in Gulfport. She was born June 9, 1933 and worked many years in the transportation business for Ace Moving and Storage and Fayard Moving. She was past director of the March of Dimes, Gulf Coast chapter, and organized the first "Walk". She also served as the supervisor of the ad layout section of the Sun Herald. Mrs. Dolson was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Bessie Parvin; sister, Vance Emmons, and brother, Barney Parvin. She is survived by her husband, Rod Dolson, niece, Charlotte (Glen) England of Killen, AL, and nephew, Jim (Nancy) Parvin of Morton, IL. The family would like to commend the staff of ICU at Biloxi Regional Medical Center and Cannon Hospice for the outstand care they provided and their professionalism. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Humane Society of South MS, 2615 25th ave., Gulfport, MS 39501. Mrs. Dolson requested that no services be held. Brandford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
