Barbara Almeda Summerlin

Mrs. Barbara Almeda Nelson Summerlin, 47, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Sunday, May 20, 2007, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Summerlin was born in Biloxi and remained a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. She was a homemaker and a member of East Howard Baptist Church in Biloxi. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Bosarge Nelson and two brothers, Tony Hebert and Tommy Hughes. Survivors include three daughters, Edna Summerlin, Nita Lyons and Dana Nelson all of Biloxi; a son, Thomas S. Summerlin of Biloxi; her father, Vander "Dale" Nelson, Sr., of Biloxi; two sisters, Addie Hebert and June Nelson both of Biloxi; four brothers, Vander "Dale" Nelson, Jr., Miral Nelson and Jimmy Hughes all of Biloxi, and Harvey Hughes of Ocean Springs, and grandchildren, Shawn Lyons, Jr., Corrine Lyons, Jason Summerlin, Kevin Summerlin,Ryan Summerlin, Landon Lancon, and one unborn. Funeral services will be Friday, May 25, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. at the East Howard Baptist Church in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
