Barbara Ann Yocom Bienvenu, age 74, was born on December 3, 1930 in Sulphur, Louisiana and was peacefully returned to her heavenly father on June 26, 2005 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi due to natural causes. She was a life long resident of Sulphur, Louisiana, co-founder of B'Alans Fine Jewelry in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, a loving Mother, Grandmother, and friend. She was a dedicated supporter of Habitat for Humanity, an avid appreciator of music, nature, and the fine arts. Barbara is survived by her sister, Gloria Jean Whatley of Denver, Colorado; her three children, Reed Scott Bailey of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Jean Ann Hogston of Sulphur, Louisiana, and Alan Bienvenu of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; her five Grandchildren, Kristopher Scott Bailey of Houston, Texas, Gregory Michael Hogston of Roanoke, Virginia, Dr. Steven Hale of Memphis, Tennessee, Blake Hale of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Taylor Hale of Lake Charles, Louisiana and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family. Barbara was predeceased by her spouses, Reed Lewis Bailey and Alan L. Bienvenu, Her brother, Bobby Yocum, and her parents, J.C. and Lena Yocum. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home located at Highway 90 in Sulphur, Louisiana following visitation from 1-2 p.m. Family preference for expressions of love and sympathy can be directed to the Thad Pritchard Memorial Fund in care of the Mary C. O'Keefe Cultural Center for Arts and Education, 1600 Government Street, Ocean Springs, Mississippi 39564.
