Barbara Audrey Stokes

Barbara Audrey Lightell Stokes, 76, died January 21, 2009. She was born February 19, 1932 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She was a loving and caring sister, mother, grandmother and friend who will be sadly missed by all. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marcelin and Martina Lightell, husband Milwood Stokes, and great grandchild, Alexander Michael Norton. Survivors include one brother, Joseph Lightell – Gulfport, MS: Nine children: Laverne (Tom) Clayton – D’Iberville, MS: Kathy (Steve) Strickland – Attapulgus, GA; Yvonne (Mike) Johnston – D’Iberville, MS; Buddy (Porfi) Stokes, - Ocean Springs, MS; Belinda (Buster) Powell – Brinson, GA; Roy (Mary) Stokes – Biloxi, MS; John (Susan) Stokes – Paxton, IL; Karen (Tony) Miller – Biloxi, MS; David (Geri) Stokes – Long Beach, MS; twenty four grandchildren and thirteen great- grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, January 23, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Interment is in Biloxi National Cemetery.
